Miko Fajar Bramantyo (the story)

Miko Fajar Bramantyo, well-known as Miko Fajar, is a professional volleyball player from Salatiga, Central Java. He was born on September 4, 1986 in Salatiga and has two siblings. Miko Fajar graduated from Faculty of Economics, Universitas Teknologi Yogyakarta (UTY). He joined a professional volleyball team named Bantul Yuso Tomkins (Yuso Gunadarma) since he was still a student in SMA BOPKRI 2 Yogyakarta. Before joining Bantul Yuso Tomkins, Miko Fajar was a member of Surya Muda Salatiga volleyball team. He is an all-round player, usually plays as an outside hitter (wing spiker). Due to his charismatic character, Miko Fajar often trusted to be captain of the team. Beside his professional career as a volleyball player, Miko Fajar is known for his hobby in photography.

He ever joined a junior national volleyball team and in 2004 Miko and his team, Bantul Yuso Tomkins, winning the first champion of Livoli in Cirebon, West Java. The year 2007, Miko Fajar joined a team for Yogyakarta in Pekan Olahraga Nasional (PON) and got a silver medal in the competition. Also in 2007, Miko Fajar succeeds to bring Yuso winning the first champion again in Livoli 2007. Miko Fajar also received an award for the best player at that competition which held in Jember, East Java. On the year 2007 and 2008, Miko Fajar and his team succeed to win the third champion of the national volleyball competition, Proliga. Miko Fajar, who often wears number 5, also brought his team winning the second champion in Livoli 2008, 2009 and 2010. Miko Fajar then transferred to Semarang Bank Jateng volleyball team in 2011. He also plays role as a captain in his new team. I first knew Miko Fajar in 2007 when I saw him on TV while he played for Bantul Yuso Tomkins in Proliga –and I think I don’t have any particular reasons why I like him.

I literally like this photo so much. This photo was taken on December 2008 in GOR Pajajaran, Bandung, where the competition of Livoli 2008 took place. There was a semifinal match between Indomaret Sidoarjo versus Mars Kota Probolinggo at that time. The players of Bantul Yuso Tomkins, who has saved place in a final match, were sitting in a seat near an exit gate and were enjoying the match. There was Miko Fajar among them! I, who really wanted to take picture with him, then moved near the exit gate. I wanted to call him so bad and asked him to take picture together, but the situation were really hectic and noisy –beside, I felt so much nervous. Then I just stood near them and hold the camera. I slowly called Miko Fajar to facing me, but he seemed didn’t hear my voice. After about 1 minute stood there, fortunately Miko Fajar looked at me and I gave him a signal to take a photo of him. Then he smiled at me! It was my best moment with him and I never want to forget that moment :).

In May 2009, I personally gave him a surprise visit when he was jogging in one place, in Yogyakarta. At that day, he jogged and practiced volleyball in front of my eyes –I was so happy. Miko Fajar seems really tall for me -and his arms are so long. His voice is so heavy and I think he's so cute. In my opinion, he is a person that really kind, polite and he seems so shy. He gave me an autograph in my wallet that day and I took a photo together with him! He is so much handsome :). I’m happy that he still recognizes me until now, and I always hope for the next meeting with him again.
